What is hospice?
Hospice is specialized care for those nearing the end of life. Unlike other medical care, hospice care's goal is to support the highest quality of life possible for whatever time remains. Services are provided by a team of health care professionals who maximize comfort by reducing pain and addressing physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. It is about living each day to its fullest.

How is hospice different from palliative care?
It's common for families to feel uncertain about the difference — both services bring together a team of caring experts focused on comfort. The key distinction lies in treatment:
Palliative Care allows your loved one to continue active treatments aimed at fighting or curing their illness, such as chemotherapy, radiation, dialysis, or surgery, while our team works alongside that care to keep them comfortable.
Hospice Care shifts the focus fully toward comfort, peace, and quality of life once treatments aimed at curing the illness have come to an end.
Who is eligible?
Hospice care is for the terminally ill who is expected to have six months or less to live (if diseases follows its normal course) and has chosen relief of pain over healing procedures. Most hospice patients are eligible for Medicare, hospice benefits, which cover all aspects of hospice care and services. Other forms of reimbursement for hospice services include Medicaid, private insurance, HMOs, and private pay. Crown Care Hospice accepts all of the above.
How do we begin?
